Title: Long-distance calls
Post by: svinyard on May 22, 2007, 12:10:34 PM
I need to generate a monthly long distance calls report by user for billing purposes. I thought I could use a "Number Dialed" filter with 1*, but that would also include toll-free numbers. What could I do to make this work?

You may want to use a combination of filter criteria (number dialed, cost, call direction) etc...

Usually toll free calls would be zero cost.  Call direction should be set to outgoing.

When setting rates, the Startup & Installation Guide differs from what I see (http://www.callaccounting.ws/release/CAM%20Startup%20Guide.pdf (http://www.callaccounting.ws/release/CAM%20Startup%20Guide.pdf)). I have not done any customization prior to adding Long Distance costs. Is it bad that mine is configured This way?
also, my goal is to exclude toll-free numbers from the rates. Is this possible?

...Basically, I need to know how to add entries so any toll-free calls are not perceived as charged.

If you submit a request to our support@callaccounting.ws, we will create a rate file template for you to import into your software.  You will need to specify and provide your rate sheet information for all call types (and various access codes, if used).

I've been testing this software extensively for possible use throughout our enterprise.  this has been one of the biggest downfalls though.  Our LD charges are pretty basic.  just 1 per minute charge on any call 1+ excluding toll-free numbers.  I cannot seam to figure out how to program this.  Is the only way to do it is have support make a template for it?
