Taskbar icon constantly red all of a sudden?
« on: April 22, 2008, 10:37:09 AM »
Hi everyone,..

sometime in the past few weeks, the taskbar icon for CAM has changed to red constantly. It is extremely slow to load any pages of the UI. it is still generating and sending scheduled reports. we've been running the system over a year without issues and very little maintenance.

anyone have ideas of what I can check? the machine it's on is almost entirely devoted to CAM.

It sounds as though your database is getting very large. Have you tried purging your old parsed and raw call data. CAM keeps both a copy of the original raw data and the parsed data. Depending on which phone system you have this can cause the database to grow very large. To determine the size of your database check the size of the following file.

c:\bill\bill.exe

If it is over 1 GB then it is starting to get large and may require purging to be performed.

A "Purge Calls" option is available under the Maintenance menu.  Here, you can select the date(s) to purge data from.  Please note, you may wish to make a backup of your call data beforehand.  Once data is purged from your database you may not be able to recover it without a backup.

Please note, in a correction to the post above, the c:\bill\calls.dat file is the database file that will grow with increased call volume.  The bill.exe is the executable; this should not vary in size.
