Not a professional

Dear Friends,

Just landed on the forum, was doing research which led me on this forum. I have a small business, where I did not have permanent accountant, but from sometimes I was thinking to have’ hm, but not this moment. In mean time I would like to handle accounts by myself as well. Is it possible? What you suggest?

I have seen some accountant still working with Excel from Journal entries, Leger general and Balance sheet.

Any help or suggestion worth in this situation. Thanks
